If you genuinely believe you can achieve something that means you have a positive attitude towards achieving this goal which will make it feel easier to do and give you more motivation, since you honestly believe you can do something you will feel the urge to prove it to yourself. A negative mindset towards something, like believing you’re horrible at swimming. Will destroy your motivation because you believe you are bad, so most people think “What’s the point, I’m horrible!”. You can change this mindset by giving yourself proof you’re not bad at swimming by progressively getting better at it (not professional advice).
